Dear TLS Community,
Did you know that God is with us all – the – time?
It’s an interesting concept when you think about it. I think we can fall into the trap and think that God is with us only when we need Him, as if He left us for a little while and comes back to us every now and then. Some of you are probably thinking of the poem ‘Footprints’ at this point if you know it. Matthew Halman actually read out the poem at a recent Chapel service last term.
The reason I want to talk about this is because we live busy lives. Yet, God is with us.
In high school I thought I was busy. At university I thought I was busy. Teaching is busy and having children is certainly another level of ‘busy’. During all of these times, although my focus may be elsewhere, God is with me through it all.
What I’m learning as I’m getting older is that each of us is busy in some way. One moment we think we’re busy, but then, a time comes along and all of a sudden we have reached new heights in terms of being busy. It just seems to get a whole lot worse and sometimes we feel as though we won’t be able to make it through times ahead.
I am quite certain that if you think about the people in your life, you will find that a majority of them are busy in some way or another. We have different lifestyles, hobbies, families, relationships, employment and the list goes on and we are all busy people.
How good is it knowing that during these often crazy times in our lives, we have a God who is happy to stick by us! A God who is an understanding God and doesn’t leave us when we lose sight of His plans for us or focus on things other than Him.
I have found in the last couple years that my quiet time with God is actually in the car on the way to school in the morning. It’s my time with God and the perfect place to pray and to listen. Perhaps you have a place where you can escape the busyness of life and meet God. And remember, He is always there and will never leave you.
God’s richest blessings,
Year 3/4 Teacher.
