In late May there was an exceptionally tall, yellow and spotty week at Tanunda Lutheran School.. and the children couldn’t have been happier! Bob Morcom and ‘Healthy Harold’ from Life Education SA spent a week with ELC, Junior, Middle and Upper Primary classes from TLS delivering Life Education’s message to young people about living safe and healthy lives.
“A child’s education is multi-layered,” explained Principal Darren Stevenson, “It is so vitally important to provide our young people not only with knowledge but also life skills so that all these things can be combined to develop the whole child. The Life Education team complement this holistic approach and have done so well for many years.”
Each class has had the opportunity to experience the unique, fun and exciting learning centre assisting children to develop the skills needed to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing, covering age appropriate topics including: body knowledge, personal safety, healthy lifestyle, social skills, nutrition, physical activity, relationships, alcohol, medicines, cybersafety, decision making, safety and tabacco. “Every single child has different needs and questions,” said Mr Morcom of the value in his job visiting schools with the Life Ed. van throughout SA.
